The Autonomous Region of Tibet is an area that is literally "on top of the world" because of its very high elevations—the highest in the world. It is a nation that has received little help from outside. However, today there are opportunities to assist the people of Tibet in humanitarian ways, and we are excited to be able to partner with some who are providing holistic help and hope for these people. 
Located on 15 acres of land in Purnia, the Christian Medical Centre was built about two years ago. This facility is serving the poor through both services within the 3,000 square foot clinic, as well as through community-based work in about 50 villages. This Out-Patient facility has been serving about 5,000 patients each month. Prior to this medical clinic, people in this area had to make an 18-hour train ride to the closest medical facilities. Thus many died from very treatable diseases and emergencies. If funding becomes available, a 100 bed hospital is projected to be built in 2008.
