| To be built in a remote area, this Community Center will serve as a multi-functional building for those living in the village. This particular village is populated by the Lisu peoples.
Global Assist Network is partnering with an international organization, as well as local Chinese, to assist in constructing this greatly needed building.
The total cost for this building, which will hold about 300 people, is estimated at $35,000. However, the villagers will provide much of the labor, which will cut the total amount we need to obtain to about $28,500.
Part of what affects the cost of this building is its remote area, as well as the fact that materials will have to be brought across a large river. As there is no bridge close to this area, both the people who live there, and the materials that are needed to build this building, have to be brought across the river on a cable that extends from one bank to the other.
As quickly as funds are available, the villagers will begin securing final written approval from government officials. When that is obtained, they will begin preparing the ground and laying the foundation.
This building will be used in several diverse ways seven days a week.
