The Home of Hope Children's Home
—Dhaka, Bangladesh

About 17 years ago a man walked into the office of our partner in Bangladesh. Obviously poor, our partner thought the man would ask for money or a job. Instead, he asked for our partner to take his child. Without a way to care for the child at that time, our partner had to turn the man down. However, that incident intensified our partner's unrest that he had been feeling regarding reaching out to the very poor in Bangldesh. And it was then that he and his wife made a commitment that they WOULD make a difference, somehow.

Though they had no encouragement or backing, they decided to begin the Home of Hope. In three days funds came to them to care for children and they began with 16 orphaned children.

Through the years Home of Hope has become much more than a "rescue center." It has become a place where children can become all they can be! Each child received an education, complete through high school, and each one completes a high level of English, computer training, and training for other occupations that will help these children become leaders in the communities where they will live after leaving the Home.

Now, 15 years after beginning Home of Hope, they are seeing their original children enter life on their own. Most of the original 16 are either in college or university. One works with the Bengali Media Outreach, another program started by our partner. Another recently inquired about the possibility of attending Bible school.

Today 200 children of varying ages call Home of Hope "home." In January 2007 an additional 10 boys and 10 girls, between the ages of 4 and 6, will be brought into the home. Our partners are accepting these children, believing that the funding they need to add them to the "family" will be coming soon!

They have been unable to accept children for the past 3 years because funding wasn't adequate. We believe the partnership between Global Assist Network and The Home of Hope will benefit all concerned.

Donors will benefit by knowing that they are providing an opportunity for an orphaned child in Bangladesh to become part of a loving, caring family...receive a very superior education, and become a worthwhile citizen in the years to come.

The children will benefit from the love and care they will receive, as well as the educational opportunities they will have and vocational training down the road.

It's a win-win situation! Please help GAN provide the funding needed for these additional 20 children! A gift of $500 will care for one of these little ones for the entire year of 2007. Can you provide this help? Please DONATE NOW!

If you want to "sponsor" one of these children, we will be very happy to provide you with photos and updates on the child in the future. Thank you for considering this opportunity to totally CHANGE A LIFE FOREVER!
